2024 Young Ag Leader Scholarship Recipient Announcement

03/12/2024 9:16 AM | Director (Administrator)

Wyatt Glessing, a high school senior attending Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School, was recently announced as the 2024 MNICCA scholarship recipient at the organization’s annual meeting held February 20, 2024 in Mankato.  Wyatt is the son of Dan and Seena Glessing of rural Waverly, MN.

Wyatt has developed and demonstrated his leadership skills participating in school activities such as the FFA, 4-H, and National Honor Society, to name a few, while simultaneously completing numerous college courses.  He has been active in community activities such as Adopt-A-Highway, Project Caring, toy and corn drives for the area fire departments, and is a multi-year blood donor, among others.  Wyatt’s FFA accomplishments include serving as chapter vice-president and president and participating on many winning teams at state and national levels in ag communications, nursery/landscaping, veterinary science and dairy judging (team and individual), and others.  His work experience centers on the family-run dairy operation where he has grown his own personal herd from one heifer, in 2018, to 15 dairy animals, currently.  Wyatt plans to attend South Dakota State University this fall pursuing a degree in precision ag with a minor in agronomy.    Following graduation, he plans to return to the family farm focusing on leveraging efficiencies in crop production and animal reproductive health and milk production by employing new and improved technologies.
